Esteban Cambiasso – Argentina

From Inter to Leicester City (2014)

Esteban Cambiasso (also known as “Cuchu”) is considered to be one of the best midfielders in Europe from the last decade. His class, stamina, personality and leadership skills will be long remembered in the clubs for which he has played.

In the 13 years Cambiasso spent playing for the giants of Real Madrid and Inter Milan, the Argentinian midfielder was able to win 19 major titles, including a FIFA Club World Cup and two Champions League titles, one with each team.

He moved to Leicester City for the 2014 – 2015 season and endured much criticism because of his age. Nevertheless, he was voted Player of the Year at the end of the season, helping to lay the foundation that led to Leicester winning the historical title the following season.

Between 2000 and 2011, Cambiasso played for the Argentinian national team 52 times. He represented his country at the 2006 World Cup, the 2005 Confederations Cup and the Copa America in both 2007 and 2011. He scored five goals for Argentina during this time.
