HJK Helsinki to AEK Athens (2006)

Perparim (“Perpa”) Hetemaj, born in Kosovo, debuted at the very young age of 17 in the Veikkausliiga (Finnish top league), defending the colours of the country’s most important team, HJK Helsinki.

Only two years later, in 2009, he moved to the Greek club of AEK Athens for a record fee in Finnish standards. At 19, he was the youngest Champions League debutant in the history of the Greek club, when his team played against AC Milan.

Since 2011, he has played for the Italian club Chievo, for whom he has appeared in over 500 matches. He has since appeared in 55 matches for the national team of Finland, for whom he has scored four times.
