FABIO BORINI – ITALY
FABIO BORINI
Liverpool to Sunderland (2015)
Sunderland to AC Milan (2017)
Nicknamed “The Pirate” because of how he celebrates his goals, Borini moved to Sunderland on a permanent transfer in 2015 for £9m. This move came after an extremely successful season with the Magpies in 2013 – 2014, a time during which the footballer scored 10 goals.
Borini will be remembered in the history of Sunderland for two legendary goals: the winning strike against his team’s eternal rivals in the Derby vs. Newcastle Match in 2013, and the goal in the EFL Cup final of 2014 vs. Manchester City – a final reached by the Magpies 40 years after their first final in Wembley in 1973.
Named Sunderland’s Young Player of the Year in 2014, Borini joined the seven-time Champions League winners AC Milan in 2017, where he is still currently playing. Borini played 75 times in his first two years for the Rossoneri.
Borini is a sought-after player – a fact that’s reflected by the high status of the clubs for which he has played (including Chelsea, Liverpool, Roma and Milan).
