His well-known set-pieces were crucial for Roma’s title win and, for years to come, delighted the fans of Betis Sevilla, the Spanish club he joined in 2002.

This footballer played in seven Champions League contests and five UEFA Cup matches.

He played 11 times for the Brazilian national team between 1998 and 2000, scoring one goal during this time.
