Roman Eremenko is a Finnish-Russian midfielder who has played more than 250 matches in the Russian Premier League.
Like his older brother, Alexei Jr, he decided to play for the national team of Finland, the nation in which he grew up. His move to Udinese in 2006 was followed a couple of years later by his brother’s move to Lecce (Serie A).
Roman has played for the Finnish international team 73 times, scoring five goals. His career total of goals in club leagues is 44, and he has played in Finland’s qualification games for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, the UEFA Euro 2012, the 2014 FIFA World Cup, and the UEFA Euro 2016.
He won the Russian Football Premier League’s Most Valuable Player Award after the 2014/2015 season.
